Farmers stage sit-in to demand urea

Imphal, July 30 2022: Demanding timely and adequate supply of urea to farmers, a sit-in protest was staged by farmers of Lamjao, Tejpur and Laimanai of Kaching Mayai Lamjao Gram Panchayat at Lamjao Mayai community hall on Saturday.

Speaking on the sidelines, All Manipur Loumi Lup vice president U Rajmohon remarked that the failure to provide urea to farmers is violating the rights of the farmers and as such, demanded the government to provide urea to the farmers at the earliest.

Questioning who would be held responsible if the crops were to go to waste, Rajmohon informed that the sit-in will continue until the urea shortage is addressed.
