Incessant rainfall for over the past few days reportedly triggered massive landslides at different locations at Awangkhul Part-II (Ramgailong) village, located about 17 kms from Noney in Tamenglong district.
According to a statement issued by the vice-chairman of Awangkhul part-II, the landslide destroyed standing crops and protected trees within the jurisdiction of the village.
The villagers appealed to the Govt to immediately assess the loss and initiate necessary steps to compensate the victims of the natural calamity.
