Imphal, September 26 2023:
Health Diretcor Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang has forewarned that the State may witness a spike in the cases of dengue infection in the coming years.
Addressing the media at Lamphelpat today, Dr Sasheekumar said that the State reported 746 cases of dengue and three suspected deaths due to the vector borne disease this year (till September 22) .
He said that the number of dengue cases reported in 2018 was only 100 while the figure increased to 500 in 2022 .
The Health Department has taken up several measures to contain the outbreak of the vector-borne disease, he added.
