Imphal, July 17 2014: The Agriculture Minister Abdul Nasir has on Thursday stated during Assembly Question Hour that short duration paddy seeds are being distributed to the farmers whose paddy fields do not access to irrigation facilities.

Replying to a question asked by Th Shyamkumar, the Agriculture Minister informed the House that the short duration paddy seeds have been distributed through District Agriculture Officers and continued that the Agriculture department will soon distribute vegetable seeds for high level agriculture fields.

In another question asked by M Kunjo, Education Minister M Okendro divulged that it could not be possible for the Govt.of Manipur to regularize the 717 Higher Secondary Lecturers and also the 56 Lab Assistants who are now engaging in the Govt.higher secondary schools across the State.

Answering to a question of the L Ibomcha, the Forest and Environment Minister Th Devendra expressed that the total number of sanction posts for the Forest Department is 1215 and the existing total staff strength is 812 only.

The Minister further mentioned that the shortfall staff will be recruited after lifting recruitment ban.
