Imphal, January 17 2020: Sehlon Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) celebrated Army Day with torch bearers of the future of the Samtal and Phoilen region in Chandel district.

A painting competition under the theme of "Soldier Saviour" was also held, said PRO, IGAR.

This event witnessed participation of a total of 39 school children.

A motivational lecture under the theme 'Nation Building - Role of Indian Army' was held at Phoilen.

The locals of old Samtal region and Phoilen expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the continuous and dedicated efforts of Assam Rifles, it added.
