Imphal, October 16 2015 : Coalition for Indigenes' Rights campaign (CIRCA) will observe the day on which the Manipur Legislative Assembly came into being at Bishnupur bazar on October 18 .

Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club, CIRCA convenor Thokchom Somarendro said that the Paphal-embossed State flag would be hoisted on the day.

He also urged the public to attend the function by wearing celebration dress.

He said that CIRCA had staged protests at 225 villages across the State against the merger agreement signed on October 15, 1949 .

The protest campaign kick started on September 21 at Royal Palace by flying the State flag half-mast, he said.

The State flag was also flown half-mast at all the protest venues, he said.
