Imphal, February 15 2016: A man stabbed his wife to death at Chengkhu village, Chandel district at around 9 pm yesterday.

Kanhring Thapa (35) s/o Purne stabbed his wife Lalmunhlim alias Bemnu (32) to death following a heated altercation, informed a source.

People of the neighbourhood overpowered Kanhring and handed him over to police.

Bemnu left behind two sons and a daughter.

Her corpse has been deposited at JNIMS morgue.

Meanwhile, Chengkhu village has decided to banish Kanhring and his family from the village.
