Imphal, March 11 2018: Joint Struggle Committee Electricity Department Manipur has made a fervent appeal to the Government to regularise 425 contract employees of MSPCL earlier known as Department of Electricity.

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Laishram Krishnadas, president of the committee said that the corporation downsized the employees and put them on contract basis.

He said that High Court of Manipur issued on order on May 20 of last year approving regularisation of 425 contract employees of the corporation.

Acting on the order, the Government assured the contract employees that they would be made as regular employees soon but the same has not been done till date, he said.

He also demanded the Government to hold a cabinet meeting in this regard at the earliest.
