Aircraft engine handed over

An aircraft engine of World War II era was handed over to the Imphal War Museum during a simple function held today at Konsakhul.
Among others IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip and ZU (AMN) president Amu Kamei were present at the function.
The World War II aircraft engine was discovered by students of Wood- stalk English School and volunteers of Senjam Chirang Youth Club during an expedition to Kounu hills.
Speaking at the occasion, Second World War Imphal War Museum founder Yum-nam Rajeshwar said that the engine discovered from Kounu hills looked like a transport aircraft engine.
Expressing his intention for an extensive search of the area for World War II objects, Rajeshwar sought co- operation of the local people.
