Imphal, August 05 2013: Sleuths of Anti-Smuggling Unit, Custom Division, Imphal seized a total of 2061 Amphetamine tablets (popularly known as 'World is Yours' or WY tablet) worth Rs 20.61 lakh in the local market from a Myanmar national yesterday at Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh.

A source said that the contraband drugs were seized from a Myanmarese national, Tamong s/o U Tal Shwe of Tamu Ward No 6 from Moreh Tali Road yesterday around 2pm.WY tablet is manufactured from Ephedrine/Pseudoephedrine drug.

A tablet of WY is sold at Rs 1000 in the local market.

The price is ten times higher in International market.

The drug is extensively abused in metro cities of Eastern India.

The arrested man was produced before a Court today and has been remanded to judicial custody, the source added.
