Imphal, July 05 2014 : A workshop on Local Self Government and District Planning Committee was on Saturday held at the conference hall of the Institute of Cooperative Management, Lamphelpat.

The N Geetchandra Singh and retired Prof Dr N Mohendro Singh have attended the workshop as chief guest and president respectively.

While giving the welcome address of the function, the deputy director of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj W Phajatombi Devi has instigated the gatherings to open up their mind so as to find ways and means for effective performance of the various District Planning Committees.

Director of MAHUD N Geetchandra also stressed the need for participating in the Local Self Government bodies in the development process of the State.

While giving his presidential speech, Prof Mohendro expressed that the elected leaders of the Local Self Government should have visions and they should strive for materializing their visions.
