Miscreants explode grenade

Imphal, June 04 2014: Unidentified miscreants hurled a hand grenade at the residence of VS Vareiyo, special contractor, in Nagaram today around 7.05pm.The grenade landed on rooftop and exploded.

However, nobody was hurt in the explosion.

Vareiyo (65) originally hails from New Jurom, Ukhrul district and is involved in PWD and PMGSY works.

In another incident, an unidentified person hurled a hand grenade inside the house of Moirangthem Jayenta of Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai today.

Moirangthem Jayenta is a teacher in Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School.

The incident occurred around 3pm.The hand grenade was handed over to the police.
