Govt to set up varsity for Tripura

Agartala, January 02 2015 : The Tripura Government would set up a separate university for the state besides the existing central university, a minister said on Wednesday.

"We have prepared the State University bill to set up a state university.

It would be tabled in the meeting of the council of ministers to be held on January 7 for its finalization.

The same bill would be placed in the winter session of the state assembly beginning in February and if passed, the university would be set up", State Higher Education minister Tapan Chakraborty told reporters.
