Imphal, January 31 2016: Chingkhu-Khundrakpam Loukol Kanba Lup has decried Agriculture Minister Md Abdul Nasir for allegedly reiterating Government's stand on setting up a film city/institute at the paddy fields of Chingkhu and Khundrakpam while speaking at the foundation day celebration of a local club at Sambei.

In a statement, the committee said that it seems that the Agriculture Minister does not understand his responsibility of protecting agriculture land.

The committee further questioned the Minister why the Government is planning to construct the left canal of Dolaithabi project at the paddy fields of Chingkhu and Khundrakpam if these lands are to be acquired for setting up the film city.

It cautioned that the committee would launch an agitation if the Minister fails to clarify on the issue at the earliest.
