Imphal, October 22 2012:
Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) has cried foul in the procedure of organizing the Manipur Tourism Festival which is scheduled from November 21 to November 30 .
In a press statement, KIMACS said the nature of inviting tender for stalls, parking service and entry ticket by the department will roll back the festival.
It said as the tender amount for opening a stall in the festival had reached Rs 10,000, 20,000, and 30,000 respectively.
This would lead to a corresponding rise in the price of the items to be sold than the original market price.
Surprisingly the tender bid for parking service and entry fee had also reached Rs.10, 70,000/- and this will certainly raise the parking fee of the visitors beyond expectation, it added.
The KIMACS statement also questioned about the reason for decrease of artist fee to Rs.500 each while it was Rs.1000 in previous year.
The fee is not only insufficient to bear the cost of even hiring charge for costume but also it will discourage the spirit of the artists.
