Imphal, March 21 2016: In view of the ensuing Yaoshang (Holi) festival, Imphal East district police is all set to launch a special drive from March 23 till March 27 to strictly implement certain safety norms and pull up erring riders.

According to a press release issued by Imphal East SP Kamei Angam Romanus, district police would take up strin- gent measures would be taken up against violation of traffic rules and established norms such as driving without driving licence/registration certificate/insurance certificate, driving by minor, triple riding on a two-wheeler, vehicles plying without displaying registration numbers, driving under influence of liquor/drugs, riding two-wheeler without helmet, driving motor vehicles with tinted glass, over-speeding, over-loading etc.
