Smuggled Tokay Geckos recovered

Imphal, January 19 2014 :
Discovering smuggling of banned wild life products, troops of 9 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) launched a search operation in Dalpatti Ward No 2, Moreh in Chandel district yesterday.
During the search operation a well packed box was recovered and when the box was opened for inspection, six Tokay Geckos were found inside.
These exotic animals are valued at approximately Rs 3,00,000 in the international market.
The recovered Tockey Geckos have been handed over to Wildlife Department in Moreh, according to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
