Imphal, September 11 2015 :
The 24-hour Khwairamband bandh called by the Khwairamband Nupi Keithel Sinpham and Saktam Kanba Lup from Thursday midnight affected normal business activities in Khwairamband area including the three women markets, Thangal bazaar and Paona bazaar on Friday.
It may be mentioned that the bandh was called against the visit of Indo-Naga interlocutor RN Ravi who landed in Imphal on Thursday on a two-day visit to the State.
RN Ravi took a main role in the Naga Peace Accord signed between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) on August 3 last.
The three women markets, Thangal bazaar and Paona bazaar wore a deserted look while shops at Wahengbam Leikai and Nagamapal were totally shut during the bandh.
The State Government deployed a large number of police personnel in different areas to avoid unwanted incidents.
