JAC demands arrest of gunman

Imphal, August 08 2015 : The JAC formed against the attempted murder on Bashir Ahamad and his son Sahadat urged the authority to immediately book the culprits and give befitting punishment.

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club on Friday, JAC Convener W Nanao said Bashir got three bullets in the attack.

It may be mentioned that Bashir Ahamad was shot and wounded by two gunmen identified as Amir Khan (26), son of Iman Ali of Irong Cheseba Makha and Abdul Rahaman (22), son of Fazur Rahaman of Irong Cheseba Makha on Bengoon Awapalli road.

Amir Khan was killed by a mob at the spot the same night while Abdul had managed to escape and still his whereabouts is not known.

If the authority fails to arrest Abdul Rahaman within 24 hours, the JAC will be compelled to launch intensified agitations, Nanao warned.

Nanao further said the victim Bashir is still undergoing medical treatment at Raj Medicity.
