Chandel endorses UNC bandh call

Chandel, September 03 2014:
A public meeting held at CNPO office in the district head quarters here yesterday resolved to support the decision of UNC to indefinite restriction on vehicular traffic along National Highways in Naga areas from 6 am of September 4 .
For effective implementation, a Coordination Committee was also formed during the meeting.
Talking to media after the meeting, CNPO spokesperson informed that the committee will enforce restriction on vehicular movement along NH 102 (Pallel to Moreh), NH 102C (Pallel to Chandel) and within the Naga inhabited areas of the district.
However, educational institution, medical, power, PHED and media will be exempted from the purview of the restriction.
Urging the people to extend cooperation in this regard, the spokesperson added that any individual violating the restriction will be at their own risk.
The meeting which was organized under the aegis of CNPO was attended by presidents of all Tribe Hohos, leaders of the students and women bodies, village chiefs and public.
