Imphal, July 25 2013: Anjuman, Lilong seized 517 litres of country liquor from two persons yesterday.

The apprehended persons have been identified as G Kumar (47), s/o G Paokholun of Lilong Chingkham Kabui Khul and Md Islau Rahman (22), s/o Md Abdul Haque of Lilong.

A member of Anjuman told media persons that the organization has been conducting drives in Lilong area to check drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

The two persons were arrested by volunteers of Anjuman yesterday while transporting huge quantity of liquor in two different vehicles.

The seized liquor would be destroyed in front of the public, he stated.
