TYCM condemns killing of State youth

Imphal, July 23 2014: Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) has condemned in the strongest terms the killing of Salouni Akha (29) of Tungjoy village, Senapati district who was beaten to death by a group of people following an altercation in South Delhi's Mubarakpur area in the wee hours of July 21 .

A statement from TYCM said such violence meted out towards northeast people in the national capital is tragic not only to citizens of northeast but to whole people of the country.

Acknowledging the concern expressed by MLA K Shyam and MLA Dr I Ibohalbi, who took up matter in the State Assembly session, TYCM has also appealed to Delhi Government to give befitting punishment to the culprits involved in the killing and ensure effective protection to people from the northeast studying and working in the national capital.
