Imphal, September 19 2015 : District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit Imphal West organised a one-day awareness programme on HIV/AIDS at the conference hall of Moirangkhom Loklaobung.

Chief Medical Officer Imphal West Dr H Kulla, Kick Boxing Association of Manipur president Rajkumar Joysana and MNP+ president L Deepak attended the programme as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.

District AIDS Control Officer Imphal West Dr S Gopal said that every HIV-positive person should be an AAY card holder to get the benefits provided by the Government of India.

A total of 66 HIV+ persons have enrolled themselves under AAY card holders in Imphal West while for 222 are still in process, said Gopal.

He urged all HIV-positive people in the district to come out openly and get the benefits meant for them.
