Youths charge police with harassing on personal enmity

Imphal, July 14 2015 : Three persons who were participating in the protests demanding a people- friendly ILP system in the State were beaten up brutally on July 12 at Kwakeithel Thaonaojam Leikai.

In a press meet, representatives of Kwakeithel Thaonaojam Leikai Development Association Club alleged that the three protestors namely Chingangbam Malangba aged 40, Moirangthem Johnson aged 23, and Hawaibam Boinao aged 27 were tortured by the police personnel for personal enmity.

Further, the club representatives alleged the involved police person identified as Sashidananda SDPO, Imphal West from Ningthemkon Tiddim Road for carrying out the unethical action.

The club representatives and women organisation of Kwakeithel Thaonaojam Leikai also warned the police personnel that befitting measures will be taken up against them if repeated cases come up in future.
