Imphal, March 14 2018: The JAC Against Forced Inauguration of Mapithel Dam (JAC, AFIMD) has called off its proposed 48 hours all Manipur bandh, from midnight today to March 16 midnight, following the decision to decommission Mapithel dam by the Chief Minister, Water Resource Department Minister and 43 Phungyar A/C MLA on March 11, due to the incomplete works at the dam.

A press release issued by the secretary of the JAC expressed gratitude to the CM, the Minister and the local MLA, for hearing the grievances of the affected people and also extended gratitude to all the CSOs for extending full cooperation to the demands raised by the JAC.
