National children residential painting camp kicks off

Imphal, January 31 2016: A National children residential painting camp under theme "Pro- tection of child rights" has kicked off at the Institute of Rural Education (IRE), Wangjing today, reports our correspondent.

The camp is being organised by various local organisa- tions, clubs and NGOs.

The inaugural programme was graced by Rk Memcha Devi, Member Secretary, Manipur State Legal Services Authority, Raghu Leishangthem, president, Patriotic Writers' Forum and artiste Phunindro Laishram as presidium mem- bers.

Speaking at the programme, IRE, Wangjing Principal Rajivkumar Narengbam said that apart from encouraging the children to excel academically, parents and teachers exposed the children to educational art activities.

Around hundred children from Assam Hojai and Tripura are also participating in the camp.
