Oinamlong threatens to stop railway works

Tamenglong, September 19 2015 : Oinamlong village of Tousem Sub-Division Tamenglong served an ultimatum on the Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong on Friday demanding immediate payment of compensation to the railway affected villagers.

Speaking to the reporters, Liudailung Panmei, Chairman of 4 Clans Committee said that if the responsible authority failed to pay the land compensation to the affected villagers within September 25, the villagers will stop the construction of railway works in Oinamlong jurisdiction.

Currently, construction works of Tupul-Jirbam is in good progress.

However, it has been reported that another work site on an approach road had destroyed many standing crops and farms.

"The villagers have been left with no other option but to stop construction works in Oinamlong village jurisdiction", Liudailung Panmei warned.
