Imphal, March 17 2015: Four persons accused of poaching have been sent to jail after they were produced before a Court today.

The four poachers were handed over to Bishnupur police on March 12 by volunteers of IBCN, Manipur, Global Science Club, Khoijuman and People for Animal, Thoubal.

The four persons were produced before the Court of CJM Bishnupur today.

The Court pronounced a 15-day jail term for them.

Meanwhile, a hog deer (kharsa) was rescued by one Thiyam Loken of Ngaikhong Siphai Mamang Leikai.

He handed over the rescued hog deer to United Library and Sports Organisation who in turn handed over the same to the Keibul Lamjao National Park authority.
