Imphal, June 16 2012: As part of World Wide celebration by the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) under the theme "Healthy soil sustains your life: Let's Go Land-Degradation Neutral" the Directorate of Environment Porompat, Imphal will observe World Day to Combat Desertification on June 17, 2012 at Kangla Hall at 3pm.VK Thakral IAS, Principal Secretary; Forests and Environment; Rural Development and Panchayati Raj; Government of Manipur will grace the state level function.

Meanwhile Dr Y Nabachandra Singh, Joint Director has appealed to all to attend the function.
