Imphal, September 04 2014: For the second time in the country, the Multi Parametered Geophysical Observatory (MPGO) which can record magnitude of earthquake and predict outbreak of natural calamities has been installed at Langthabal Moupum, Imphal West today.

The MPGO set up by Department of Earth Sciences, Manipur University under the sponsorship of Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India was inaugurated by Dr Shailesh Nayak, Secretary of Ministry of Earth Sciences.

Prof HNK Sarma, Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University was also present during the inaugural function as President.
