Imphal, February 22 2016: Owners of around 300 passenger vehicles operating under Moirang Municipal Council have today staged a protest dem- onstration condemning the new parking rules set down by the Moirang Municipal Council, reports our correspondent.

Protesters said that new parking guidelines for passenger vehicles operating between Moirang and Sangang, Moirang and Saiton, Moirang and Arong and Moirang and Ithai would cause inconvenience to the drivers.

"This kind of occupation generate meagre income.

If the new parking rules set down by the Moirang Municipal Council are to be followed then we would be left with no income since we have to spend more on fuel in order to reach our respective parking destination", protestors said.

They urged the State Government, Transport Department and Moirang Municipal Council to address their grievance at the earliest.
