Imphal, September 17, 2012: Engineers from the Food Corporation of India today visited the 2500 MT godown that has been constructed at Churachandpur since June to assess its progress and the work quality.

Interestingly enough the committee of FCI officers from its regional office in Dimapur which include SK Satish Kumar AGM (CE), Kunal Maru AGM (F/A), G Kamei AGM, and the Area Manager FCI Imphal Thoiba has claimed that the FCI hasn't received any progress report from MDS - the agency entrusted to construct the godown.

Despiteit they were surprise by the fact that about 70% of the work has been completed on the ground.

The MPS has engaged a local contractor for the construction that has reportedly gone way ahead of the sanctioned money.

About 68 lakhs of the more than 5 crore sanctioned by the FCI has only been released to the local contractor so far.
