Imphal, January 13 2019: Together with 24 other districts of the country, Senapati district has been selected for an award for implementing the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme effectively.

This was intimated through a letter sent by Ministry of Women and Child Development Director Ashok Kumar to Senapati DC Somorjit Salam on January 11.The awards would be distributed during National Girl Child Day observation at New Delhi on January 24 .

The National Girl Child Day would be observed under the theme 'Empowering girls for a brighter tomorrow'.

Senapati district has been selected for the award in Effective Community Engagement category and DC Somorjit Salam would receive the award.
