No PDS items at Konthoujam

Imphal, August 06 2015: The villagers of Konthoujam Assembly constituency have not received Public Distribution System (PDS) items like rice and kerosene for the last three months.

Disclosing this to reporters on Wednesday, the Konthoujam Youth Congress Committee president W Jayenta said that he had received lots of complaints in this regard.

He further said that rice and kerosene for the villagers for the month of April this year were distributed on May 20 and 21 and there has been no further distribution of the same.

People would like to know whether the vanishing trick had been done by the local MLA or the agent, he asked.

Jayenta demanded an explanation from the MLA and the Imphal West Supply Officer why the villagers have been denied the items when people had been hit hard by the current floods.
