Imphal, September 05 2014 : Lt Gen Bipin Rawat, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, GOC 3 Corps, arrived in the state on a two-day visit to HQ IGAR(South) on 04 Sep 2014 .

The GOC 3 Corps was briefed on the prevailing security situation in the state by Major General Rajeev Chopra, IG AR (SOUTH).

The General officer reviewed the operational preparedness of the formations during his visit.

He also conveyed his whole hearted support to the civil administration and the local populace.

Lt Gen Bipin Rawat has taken over the reins of the ''Spear Corps" on 1st Sep 2014.The GOC 3 Corps along with the IG AR(SOUTH) called on his Excellency, Shri Vinod Kumar Duggal, Governor of Manipur and Shri Okram Ibobi Singh, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Manipur and discussed the security environment of the state.

The GOC 3 Corps lauded the efforts of the soldiers for ensuring peace and tranquility in the state and asked them to continue the good work in a professional manner and in the true spirit of the "Friends Of The North East People", according to statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
