Imphal, July 28 2014 : The 25 Assam Rifles, in a routine patrolling at Maharabi area along Asian Highway-1, Imphal West district, detected an improvised explosive device (IED) at around 5:15 am today with the help of their sniffer dog.

Soon after detecting the IED, AR personnel blocked pedestrians and vehicular movements, report says.

It was a bomb disposal squad of Manipur Police who identified the explosive as an IED.

The bomb disposal squad later safely disposed off the explosive which weighed around 2kgs.
