Imphal, August 26 2015: Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) has demanded the State Health Minister and Manipur Government to provide sufficient quota seats for the Muslim minority group of the State in the All India Pre-Medical Test Examination 2015 .

A statement of MMWO said that only five seats were reserved for Meitei-Pangal against a total of 138 MBBS seats available in the State during 2014 .

Demanding that a total of 5.52% of the MBBS seats should be allotted to the Meitei-Pangal group, the statement criticized the Government's policy to give only five seats to the community.

Urging the authorities not to repeat the same mistake committed in 2014, the statement demanded full quota for the Muslims of the State for the year 2015 and warned of launching agitation after joining hands with like-minded social organisations if the demand is not fulfilled.
