Akaba tribute event on Jan 15

Imphal, December 22 2021: The 15th death anniversary of Meetei Mayek revivalist Chingsubam Akaba will be observed at Rupmahal Theatre on January 15 next year, Wakhallon Mannaba Apunba Kangleipak president Moirangthem Naokhomba has informed.

Announcing this to newspersons at Manipur Press Club here on Wednesday, Naokhomba said that the observances is being organised to remember Akaba's contribution towards the revival of Manipuri script and in uniting the different communities of the state.

'Aroiba', a drama written by Akaba would also be presented at Rup Mahal Theatre at 10 am on January 15.Prior to the presentation of the play, floral tributes will be offered from 9 am to 10 am at Leima Ching, Wakha, wherein Akaba's mortal remains were interred, he conveyed.
