Imphal, February 22 2016: With regard to the alleged rape of a minor girl at Chinikon village, Bishnupur district in the night of February 14, a public meeting was held today at Manipur Press Club here.

The meeting organised by the JAC constituted against the rape was attended by religious leaders, woman activists and representatives of different civil society organisations.

Raising strong suspicion that the accused is a juvenile, the meeting resolved to ascertain the age of the accused before deciding on the next course of action.

The meeting also decided to take out a mass rally in denun- ciation of the bestial act.
