Imphal, March 20 2015 : A Tata Magic van, which operates passenger service between Imphal and Andro, has been damaged beyond repair after it suddenly caught fire at Wangkhem Yaipharok Maring under Irilbung police station in Imphal East district at around 1.30 pm today.

Electric short circuit in the battery connection system of the vehicle (MN-04A/2325) is suspected to be the cause of the fire.

Two passengers received minor burn injuries in the incident.

The owner-driver of the van has been identified as L Joysingh of Huikap Mayai Leikai.
