Imphal, October 16 2015 : The Hmar Youth Association, Imphal Joint Headquarters has resolved not to organise the annual 'Sikpuiruoi' festival this year.

Since time immemorial, Sikpuiruoi has been celebrated every year.

However, it would be inappropriate to celebrate any social festival when the bodies of the nine "tribal martyrs" are still lying at Churachandpur morgue and the funeral rites are yet to be performed, the association said in a statement.

It also urged all the members of the association not to participate in the upcoming Kut festival.
