ZSUM threatens stir over murder attempt on student

Imphal, August 10, 2014: Lamenting that no action has been taken up in spite of an FIR registered under Section 326 and 34 IPC against Hingba Mathew, warden of Josephine Girls Hostel, Maram who is the main accused in the alleged murder attempt on Ringsanbou Newmai, a BA History (Hons) student of Don Bosco College Maram on July 28; Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM) has categorically stated a 48-hour dateline with effect from midnight of August 12 has been set to law enforcing agency for arresting the culprit failing which it along with ZYF and AZSU will impose a 24-hour bandh along National Highways.

The bandh would also be followed by different form of democratic agitations till justice is delivered, ZSUM added.
