Imphal, January 08 2014: District Administration/Thoubal will organise maximum awareness campaign against traffic violations including driving without helmet, use of mobile phone while driving, non-use of seat belt, drunken driving, overloading and other traffic offences in connection with the Road Safety Week observance from Jan 11-17 in the district.

According to a statement, the awareness drive would be launched in the district in collaboration with the SP (Thoubal) and DTO and NYK.

Health camps would also be organised by the CMO to check the sight and hearing of professional drivers.

Meanwhile, the State Transport Directorate has invited entries on slogans on road safety from general public and photographic clips on traffic offenders/violators from photo journalists/media groups in connection with the Road Safety Week observance under the theme 'When on the road always say Pehle Aap' .
