Imphal, August 04 2015: Informing that around 300 metres of the eastern retaining wall of Imphal river has sunk, the Keirao Kendra Minority Muslim Development Organisation (KKMMDO) has urged the Government to repair the sunken portion at the earliest.

Showing the sunken portion to a team of media persons, KKMMDO general secretary Azad Khan said that the particular length of the retaining wall sunk four years back and it became worse last Saturday and Sunday.

It was the collective efforts of the villagers which saved the retaining wall from being swept away completely by the river's turbulent current.

Social worker MI Khan too urged the Government to repair the sunken portion of the retaining wall within a week at the latest.
