Imphal, July 04 2016: Ukhrul District hospital, a major health care centre in the dis- trict, has recently become risky for the patients owing to lack of hygienic atmosphere inside the hospital campus.

Located at Kamphasom at Ukhrul, the 50 bedded district hospital looks like a deserted place with overgrown bushes and unmaintained, clogged drains overflowing with water and muddy slimes right at the entrance of the patient's ward, our correspondent reports.

A family of a patient admitted in the patient's ward for the last three days expressed dismay over the hospital's unhygienic condition.

Efforts to reach the medical superin- tendent on the matter yielded no results as the medical superintendent is always out of station.

The medical superintendent hardly stays for three days in a month at Ukhrul, a reliable source told this correspond- ent.

The families attending the patients have appealed to the State Government to look into the matter and ensure the well being of the people.
