IGAR (S) extends Diwali greeting

Imphal, November 02 2013 : Major General Rajeev Chopra, IG AR (South) and All Ranks of Assam Rifles have extended warm greetings and sincere goodwill to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of DIWALI.

In his greeting, the IGAR (S) observed that Diwali symbolizes the victory of good over evil, and so it is hope that the celebration of the occasion promotes goodwill and understanding amongst people of all castes, creeds and religions.

May the lights of Diwali dispel hostility, conflict, mistrust and disaffection among the people and herald an era of peace, progress and prosperity in the region enhancing the spirit of unity, cohesiveness and brotherhood, the statement added.
