Imphal, December 31 2018: SBI Deputy Branch Manager Chabungbam Budhachandra (56) who shot dead one Salam Prashanta of Changangei Uchekon has been remanded to judicial custody for 15 days by the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West.

Budhachandra was produced before the CJM Court today and after hearing the submissions of the prosecutor, the Court remanded him to judicial custody for a period of 15 days.

Ch Budhachandra of Tera Loukrakpam Leikai shot dead Prashanta at the new Naoremthong bridge at around 10.30 pm of December 25 following a tiff over who should cross the bridge first.

On learning that Budhachandra would be produced before the Court, a large number of people from Changangei Uchekon gathered at Cheirap Court complex.

However, there was no report of any untoward incident as Imphal West District Police took up tight security measures.
