Imphal, February 21 2021: Following the initiative of Assam Rifles for creating cancer awareness among the locals, Somsai battalion of Assam Rifles organised Cancer awareness campaign and Medical Camp at Awangkasom village in Ukhrul district on February 19 .

The villagers were briefed about various types of cancers, its symptoms, precautions and treatment options available and they were also made aware about the various health and medical beneficiary schemes of the government, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
