Chandel, February 14 2016: Troops of the 12 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S), during a frisking drive held at Khudengthabi check post, apprehended an individual alongwith contraband drugs on February 13.He was heading towards Imphal in a van.

The apprehendee has been identified as Md Abdul Sukur, s/o (L) Abdul Jabar, resident of Moreh ward no 5, Chandel.

Some 789 units of WY tablets (Rs 3,94,500 approx) was recovered from his possession.

The apprehendee alongwith the recovered items have been handed over to Moreh Police Station, a statement informed.
