'Immoral' couple pulled up

Imphal, September 10 2014: At a time when large number of residents were blocking road in Thangmeiband area in support of the general strike called by JCILPS, a couple who was found indulging in immoral acts inside the college campus was pulled up by student hostellers of DM College here today.

The couple was later handed over to Thangmeiband Ema Khonthok Nganbi Meira Paibi.

The man involved has been identified as Salam Biren (57) s/o (L) S Babu of Khurai Sajor Leikai, Imphal East while the woman as Chandam Janaki (30) d/o Ch Dhananjoy of Nagamapal Phougeishangbam Leikai, Imphal West.

S Biren is said to be a Muster Roll employee in PWD.

He is a divorcee having a daughter.

Ch Janaki is also a divorcee but said to have some mental problem.

She was handed over to her family.

On hearing the news, a team of Imphal West police arrived and took S Biren into custody.
